Volunteer Opportunities 2024/2025

The PTO Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school. We have a variety of ways to be involved.

Please review the brief descriptions of each volunteer area and indicate interest. And please consider a Committee Chair Positions -- we could use your help!

Committee Chairs Needed

Chairs are focused positions that report to one of the two Vice Presidents on the Executive Board. We have 2 or more chairs for most positions. And plenty of support to learn what is needed. We value your time, effort and creativity! Please consider one of these positions to support and enhance the Sugartown Community. Chose what you might be interested in and we will follow-up with you.


Hospitality (2 Needed)
Plan for Teacher/Staff appreciation events, this includes requesting and maintaining volunteer sign up sheets. Setup/Clean up events, as well as provide necessary updates to VP to ensure the PTO board is informed. This committee functions throughout the school year.

Sugartown Cares (2 Needed)
Help coordinate school wide community service opportunities. Be part of a team of people who come together to help when tough times hit one of our families. This committee functions throughout the school year.

Sugartown Night Out (2 Needed)
Work with local businesses to coordinate a monthly dining or shopping night where a portion of each order supports Sugartown. This committee functions throughout the school year.

Sugartown Pride Auction (2 Needed)
This committee is responsible for planning and implementing the PTO's most impactful fall fundraising event. The Chair/s and members reach out to the Sugartown administration and teachers as well as applicable community members to donate services to the auction. This event takes place in November along with our DJ Dance Party.

Flower Sale (2 Needed)
Organize and implement a flower sale through the website during the first week in February. Create and place flower order.Create labels for flowers and compile distribution list from orders. This event occurs in March.

4th Grade Events (2 Needed)
This committee helps ensure our 4th graders leave with wonderful memories of Sugartown. Committee Chair and members gather content and use the Entourage website to create the fourth grade yearbook. Chair and members will also support Sugartown administration and teachers as needed for the fourth grade graduation and supplementary fourth grade events.

Yearbook (2 Needed)
Create the yearbook for the 4th grade class by using Entourage software. Provide instructions to the parents on how they can contribute. Put together the final proofs and complete publication of the Year Book to deliver in time for the 4th grade ceremonies.

Spring Fair (2 Needed)
Participate in a large group effort. Coordinate a team of subcommittee members to plan and execute the largest event of the year. This event has many moving pieces but is looked forward to by all. Schedule and plan event, overseeing all different components depending on the theme or approved type of event. This event takes place in May, but planning begins around January.

Trivia Night (2 Needed)
This event takes place off-site and involves a parent-only trivia night event along with a silent auction. Planning begins in the fall to gather raffle basket item donations from local businesses. The night of the event requires planning to establish a venue as well as the "Quizzo-type" themed portion.

Trunk or Treat (2 Needed)
Involves organizing volunteers for decorating for their trunks, compiling awards for best costume/best trunk, mapping site of trunk or treat.

Cookie Sale (2 Needed)
Coordinate the ordering and distribution of seasonal cookie kits during Spring

General Volunteer Opportunities

Assist with baking and/or set-up for various PTO events and teacher appreciation celebrations throughout the school year.
